    Claude Shannon builds the first machine that plays chess. I chose this event because I enjoy chess and I think its cool how you can play on your own computer

    T. Raymond Thompson and John Simmons develop the first business computer, the Lyons Electronic Office (LEO). I chose this event because it was an example of how people could use their computer in their line of work.
