  • Proclamation of 1763

On October 7, a Proclamation of 1763 was enacted. This act proclaimed that there wouldn't be any more settlements past the Appalachian mountains. The Colonists were not happy about this proclamation because they had jsut won this war, and to them, the victory meant new land. The British government was also happy because this was thier way to prevent the rebellions that had already happened.
