    The Syrian Civil war had started in the early spring of 2011. It started from anti-government protests to armed rebellion.

    By 2011, Syria was facing steep rises in the prices of raw materials or agricultural products. Syria was also and still is going dow in the national standard of living. The state of human rights is terrible in Syria. A gathering of five people in public was banned. Bashar al-Assad is mostly known for unsucessfully making democratic change.     Syria gained it's independence from France in 1946. It is politicaly unstable. In 2011, the protestors were inspired by Arab Spring Activism in Egypt and Tunisia. The protestors were against Bashar al-Assad regime. They voiced their opinions and their unhappiness with the polotical system, they want chnges to the government.

    As of February 2015, Turkey is the biggest refugee hosting with more than two million Syrian refugees. There are 4,086,760 refugees.

    Syria's economy is shrunken by 60 precent because of the conflict. The Syrian pond also lost most of its value, by almost 80 precent since 2011. The prices of items had also gone up all most 55 precent. The power cuts had also lasted much longer and are more frequent. Syria had been producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity however now it is only 3,000 megawatts of electricity. The only thing that is still in work is the bank.
