John Terry buys Ferry and Jingo at an auction and William Gardner buys Osay. John takes Ferry and Jingo to his house in Jamestown and William takes Osay to his house in Savannah, Georgia.

John puts the family up for auction and Jingo and Sid get bought by Daniel Wellington and takes them back to his house in Birmingham, Alabama. Sugar and Tanna get bought by Nicholas Jefferson who takes them back to Raliegh, North Carolina. This is a picture of the receipt that was given to Daniel Wellington.

Jingo lives till he is 46 years old. He dies in Birmingham Alabama because of lack of food.

After Wafer and Sugar have Agnes, Sugar becomes weaker. Jefferson thinks that Sugar and Agnes are not useful so he decides to sell then to Kevin Ballador from Columbia, South Carolina.

Sid and Jill have Benjamin. Eddison is 2 years older than Benjamin.

Benjamin, Eddison, and Sid get sold to Bill Pryor of Columbus, Ohio, while Jill stays with Daniel Wellington of Birnmingham, Alabama. Wellington decides to sell the boys because he find better work with new slaves Ed and Steve Agrios.

Agnes is bought by James Keller of Newport, Rhode Island, while Skipper stays with Kevin Ballador of Columbia, South Carolina, and Horton is bought by Steve Jones in New York, New York. Skipper has to work hard for Kevin Ballador because Agnes is diseased with Cholera. Since Agnes is now not so functional Ballador decides to sell her. Horton is sold to Jones because Ballador and Horton did not get along. Horton disobeyed Ballador, even after many punishments Horton did not learn.

The Northwest Ordinance did not allow for any masters to have slaves in the Northwest territory. Latty, Francis, and Elizabeth were seperated because of this. Their owners was planning to move up to the NorthWest with their family, once they learned that they would not bring slaves up there they decided to auction the slaves off for money. Latty and Elizabeth were sold to Master Longinwood and Francis was sold to Master Sheldon.

The Missouri Compromise is spreading slavery so in 1820 Earnest is seperated from Quaco. Earnest is sold to Ben Elyner, he is getting older and his owner thinks he is worthless. Quaco is sold to Ogwan Tosho because he is to weak from lack of nutrition.

The Fugitive Slave Act inforced that if any run away slaves were caught they would be brought back to their slave owners. Free blacks that were captured would be returned to owners or were to be found a new owner. Kale was a run away slave, he was caught and brought back to his owner. This was when he met Stevie. They got married soon after he was returned to his master.

The Compromise added California as a free state. This made slave trade illegal, while slavery was still legal. Since there was no slave trade allowed the master of Vera had no choice but to kill of some of his slaves or else his plantation would be over flowed with slaves. Since Vera was a girl and was not strong enough to do much labor work she was one of th slaves that would be punished until death.

This act allowed Kansas and Nebraska to become slave states. This affected our family because it caused Lou, Ben, and Sisy to be seperated. Their owner decided to sell Ben beause he never got along with anyone. He made messes and caused trouble. Their slave owner was nice but one day Ben did something so bad he could not stand it. Ben was then auctioned and sold to Larry Goodwind of Nebraska.

This freed all the slaves. Robin and Lacy were freed and they found and home to start a family. They had a child named Steve. He was the first child in our family born to never having to becone a slave.

Robin and Lacy are freed and they settle down to have their first child Steve.

Steve was freed because the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery. Since there was no longer any slavery our family wherever they ended up would no longer have to work for people that controlled their life.
