    Louis Waited until the last minute untill the country was almost bankrupt, he wanted to tax the nobility but when the second estate found out ,they made him call a meeting with the Estate General.(which is an assemble made up of the three Estate).

    Third Estate Delegates name themselves the National Assembly. Where they could pass laws and reforms in the name of the French people.

    After the third estate delegates were locked out of their meeting room, the broke into an indoor tennis court. the third estate pledge to stay until they drew up new constitution.

    In Paris rumors were spread rapidly. People proprosed that Louis was intent on using military force to dismiss the National Assembly.
  • Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen.

    National Assembly took the ideals of the American Declaration of Independence, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. These rights included “liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.” Also included citizens equal justice, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion.

    The assembly took over Church lands and declared that they were the countries. Catholic Church lost both its lands and its political independence.Church lands helped pay off France’s huge debt.

This new calendar had no Sundays. They even closed all churches in Paris, all the cities and towns all over France soon did the same.

    Napoleon made his way to paris after escaping elba , people cheered him on and soldiers joined him, louis eventually fled his way across the border , but then was eventually defeated during the battle with the waterloo.
