Write a ½ page, single-spaced, typed proposal explaining the career you plan to research including what motivated you to choose this career, how it relates to your personality type, who you intend to contact for shadowing, and a timeline for completing the shadowing (within the due date provided). Reference the Personality Reflection from Semester 1.

In order to obtain a job, it is important to network. Follow the directions on the Mentor Contact Log, using the form provided to record your contacts. *Your mentor must complete an evaluation at the end of your shadowing experience, so I suggest mentioning this up front.

Develop a well-formatted, attractive resume that highlights your achievements thus far. Limit to 1 page

Write a cover letter to a potential employer in the field in which you are choosing to shadow. Follow the template. Imagine you are applying for an internship; include only truthful information.

Obtain two letters of recommendation. (They cannot be from family members or peers). Provide a brag sheet and at least 2 weeks’ notice to each person who agrees to write a recommendation.

Professional draft of your quick guide. This must capture the most important facts about your career. Use the graphic organizer provided.

In order to verify your shadowing experience, you must complete:
Journal, Mentor Evaluation and Timecard, and Evidence of Shadowing. -
Compile all of the documents listed below into a professional-looking portfolio. The portfolio must be bound. Remember, this is a representation of you that each interviewer will see and evaluate.

Cornell notes on your career from a primary source;
facts about your career from reputable sources. See instructions for more detail. -
Based on your career research, shadowing, and the senior project checkpoints, you will create a presentation about your chosen career. See the directions.

Interview with peers in order to prepare for the formal interviews.

Dress professionally for the interview. Bring your portfolio with all required documents. Sit for three interviews.
