    He helped tripled the territory of his state. He also ended the dominance of the Golden Horde over the Rus. He fixed up the Moscow Kremlin, and laid the foundations of the Russian state. He was one of the longest reigning Russian rulers in history.

    He helped transform Russia into a multiethnic state spanning almost one billion acres. He also managed changes in the progression from a medieval state to an empire and combining regional power. He was the first ruler to be crowned as Tsar of All Russia.

    Nicholas II

    Was the last Emperor of Russia, Grand Prince of Finland, and titular King of Poland. He approved the Russian mobilization of August 1914, which marked the beginning of Russia's involvement in World War I, a war in which 3.3 million Russians were killed.

    Vladimir Lenin

    was a Russian Marxist revolutionary and communist politician who led the October Revolution of 1917. As leader of the Bolsheviks, he headed the Soviet state during its initial years (1917–1924), as it fought to establish control of Russia in the Russian Civil War and worked to create a socialist economic system.

    Joseph Stalin

    He was among the Bolshevik revolutionaries who brought about the October Revolution in Russia in 1917 and later held the position of General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union's Central Committee from 1922 until his death in 1953. The office of the General Secretary was not the top position in the Soviet state, Stalin managed to use it to put more and more power in his hands after the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924.

    Alexander Kerensky

    was a major political leader before and during the Russian Revolutions of 1917. Kerensky served as the second Prime Minister of the Russian Provisional Government until Vladimir Lenin was elected by the All-Russian Congress of Soviets following the October Revolution. He died in exile.

    Nikita Khrushchev

    He led the Soviet Union during part of the Cold War. He served as First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964, and Chairman of the Council of Ministers, from 1958 to 1964. Khrushchev was responsible for the partial de-Stalinization of the Soviet Union.

    Was the first President of the Russian Federation. On 29 May 1990 he was elected the chairman of the Russian Supreme Soviet. On 12 June 1991 he was elected by popular vote to the newly created post of President of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.
