As a result of the revolution, the October Manifesto was created to start a constitution, to form a Duma and to improve on liberties and freedoms. The Duma was a legislative assembly that was elected by people to pass laws and rights.

When the outbreak of a revolution happened, Trotsky returned to Russia after being exiled to Siberia, was found once again and sent to Siberia. During this revoltion, Tsar Nicholas II was forced to abdicate his throne because of revolts. Alexander Kerensky became one of the main leaders of the social- revolutionary party.

War broke out between the Bolsheviks and the old Russian army. These two groups were also known as the Red army and the White army. The White army wanted to keep royalty and the Red army wanted to get rid of it.

Vladimir Lenin was the soviet and Bolshevik leader at the time and led a revolt against the Provisional Government. The Mensheviks opposed the working class and the people in the revolt. They believed that socialism should be achieved through the bourgeisie revolution.

Some reasons for their victory are because they hasd Lenin and Trotsky for their leaders. The Whitte army did have the REd army surrounded but had some major problems and weaknesses.

Joseph Stalin was 'a man of steel' and thrived by ranking up through the government during the Civil War. The USSR was made up of mainly Bolsheviks and when Lenin died, Stalin took his place.
