While still wanting reformations, a bunch of poor Russians walked to the Czar's Winter Palace to politely ask him to make their lives easier. They were even led by a darn PRIEST (you can't get much peaceful than that). Thinking that this was some sort of threat, the Czar sends his army there and they shoot a ton of them.

Nicolas II creates a Duma for Russia after recieving violent protests and demands. Unfortunately, this Duma isn't really active because it barely brings Russia the reformations that they wanted and it could be broken by the Czar at any time that he wants to.

After the assassination of the Romanovs, Kerensky, a socialist revolutionary, temporarily takes head as their governmental leader. He keeps Russia in the war despite many objections because he is bribed by other countries.
-
-
After Russia realizes that Kerensky kind of sucks at being a leader by not even taking them out of the war when he had the chance, Vladimir Lenin returnes from exile and becomes their leader, promising them "land, peace, and bread."

After the Czar leaves his throne, the Romanov family is escorted to an odd room. Thinking that they're gonna have their pictures taken, they get all lined up neatly and whatnot. Unfortunately for them, this is not the case. After a while, revolusionaries who support the communist movement walk into the room and take fire on the formerly royal family, leaving them all dead. Talk about a bad day!

After a ton of medical crap going on with Lenin, he finally kicks the bucket. In his will, he wants Leon Trotsky to take his spot, but Stalin (being the power-hungry psycho-freak that he is) exiles Trotksy to Mexico--of all places--and becomes the head of the Russian government.
-
Taking things WAY too far, Stalin finally makes Russia a totalitarian state, where the government controls people to the point where they actually make them think what the government WANTS them to think. But there's ONE thing that Stalin didn't have to force people to think: he had one heck of a moustache.
