French and Indian War
Picture [Rating] 8 [Description] French and Indians attacked the colonist For settling on their land and England had to help the colonist defend, after 7 years it was over and England came out as the victor. England had a lot of debt from this and began to tax the colonist. -
Proclamation Line
Picture [Rating] 1 [Description] After the French and Indian war the British told the colonist that they could not settle to the west of the Appalachian Mountains, which prevented conflict with the Indians. -
Stamp Act
Picture [Rating] 7 [Description] Representatives went to the Stamp Act Congress in New York to prepare a declaration against the new British actions, which where sent to King Greorge III. -
The Boston Massacre
Picture [Rating] 6 [Description] On March 5, 1770, British soilders fired into a crowd, which killled 5 men. -
Tea Act
Picture [Rating] 4 [Description] The British put tax on tea to pay for the debts from the French and Indian war, which caused many protest and angry colonists. -
Boston Tea Party
Picture [Rating] 5 [Description] A group of angry colonists dressed up as Native Americans and dumped chest full of British tea into the Boston Harbor because they where mad at the new tea tax. -
Intolerable Acts
Picture [Rating] 1 [Description] The colonial governments banded together to fight these. They wanted to establish a political body to represent American interests and questions British control. -
First Continental Congress
Picture [Rating] 2 [Description] The deglegates sent a document to King George III that demanded the rights of the colonists to be restored and given back. -
Second Continental Congress
Picture [Rating] 2 [Description] Over half of the delegates agreed with Paines pamphlet called Common Sense. This made think that the colonies must break away from Britain. -
Lexington and Concord
Picture [Rating] 3 [Description] After the First Continental Congress, King George III sent British troops to responde with force at the battle of Lexington and Concord. This became the first battles of the Revolutionary War. -
Declaration of Independence
Picture [Rating] 10 [Description] This argues that the British government did not look after the interests of the colonists. Jefferson also put in a long list of abuses that King George III did. He then set forth the colonists beliefs about the rights of individuals.
