Storming the Bastille
The Bastille was a symbol of authority and abuse and was a prison for the people that made the King angry. The local people killed the commander and took it over , July 14, 1789. It was taken over because people were tired of being put in jail. -
The New Law
The Church loses power and put under government. The Church lost money, land and life. Other countries became scared and angry. Those who had supported the American Revolution were against the French Revolution. More and more went to radicals, stuff started to get out of control. -
The Great Fear
Troops went around destroying villages and food. Tons of riots. Famine and rumors increase a cities population and make them uneasy. The answer to solve these problems was a national assembly. All males became equal before law. All had natural rights (liberty, property, security) -
The Big Defeat
The Big Defeat was Russia. 1812 invades 600,000 troops. Russia's response: Sorched Earth Policy. Winter hit and Napoleon retreats, Russia attacks. Napoleon returns to Paris with a shattered reputation.
