    Nikolai Tesla created a wireless readio in 1893. Although he was the first to invent such a thing, people aften credit Marconi as the father of the radio. Marconi sent and recieved the first radio transmission.

    On this date, Marconi sent and recieved the first radio signals. This helped him become the father of the radio. He was the first to transmit signals across the atlantic ocean.

    During World War 1, the radio was used to send and recieve massages from boats and other armed forces. This improved communications between soldiers, helping them in the war.

    During the 1920s, radio increased in popularity. The Americans had KDKA, while the British had BBC. In the 1920s, Westinghouse Company got a comercial radio liscence which created the KDKA.
