    The Prussian League was formed on March 14, 1440 in Kwidzyn. It was a confederation of nobility and the cities of Vistula Pomerania with the real purpose of opposing the Knights and the Teutonic Order.

    Thirteen Years' War

    Thirteen Years' War
    The Thirteen Years' War was a conflict between the Prussian Confederation, allied with the Kingdom of Poland, and the Teutonic Order State. The war lasted between 1454 and 1466 mainly over the fight for control over Gdańsk Pomerania. The Prussian Confederation ended up winnning the war, end ending with a Second Peace of Thorn and losing Western Prussia to Poland.

    The Protestant Reformation

    Prussians convert to Protestantism during the mid 1500 while Poland remained as it still does remain, solidly Roman Catholic. The spread of Protestantism had to do strongly with Martin Luther and Albert of Hohenzollern on Luther's advice, transformed Prussia into a secular, hereditary duchy under the sovereignty of Poland.
