    Conscription Crisis
The military service bill introduced by Robert Borden’s Conservative government in 1917 had a political impact on Canada by hurting French-English Canadian relations. The Conscription Crisis of 1917 caused a considerable gap between Anglophones and Francophones. The majority of the French-Canadians were against conscription, while the majority of the English-Canadians were for it. This led to long-lasting conflict and dislike between the French and English Canadians.
