    There are 6 primaries. Open- when voters can take part in other parties contests even if they are for the other one. Closed-When only the voters that are with that party can vote for that party. Semi Closed-When only people with party and independent voters can vote for candidate. Semi Open-People have to choose between parties and vote for that party. Blanket-when all names for candidates are on sheet. Runoff-second primary for leading candidates in first primary.

    Delegates go to the conventions and vote for candidate. Candidate with most votes wins nomination. Vice president chosen by president.

    You vote for president. You have to register to vote by October 15, 2008. You can vote for anyone you want to regardless of party affiliation.

    Electors get together and cast their vote for President and Vice President. Congress meets to count electoral votes after election.
