Battle Of Marathon
The person in this picture is very to the Marathon battle. The person in this picture that is on the floor is Pheidippides a professional runner. He was sent to Sparta to seek help but the Spartans could not help because of religious reasons and took Pheidippides 2 days but died. During this battle, the Persians outnumbered the Athenians but at the end of the battle the Greeks won and their key to victory was to push the Persians as they took advantage of one of the Persian key strategies. -

Battle Of Thermopylae
This picture shows of what was a really bad loss for the Greeks and a victory for the Persians during the battle of Thermopylae. In this battle, the Persians heavily outnumbered the Greeks again. The greeks only had about 7000 troops and plus 300 finest spartan soldiers while the Persians had more than 180 000 troops which resulted in the Greeks' loss. Another reason is a Greek traitor led the Persians along a mountain where they trapped the 300 Spartan troops. In the end not one Greek survived. -

Battle Of Salamis
This image represents the boat battles between the Greeks and Persians. At the start of the battle, the Persians burned the defenses of Athens. Even though the Greeks were outnumbered again they swiftly attacked the advancing Persian boats. In this battle, the Persians lost 200 ships while the Greeks lost only 40 boats and which resulted in the Greeks winning the battle of Salamis. After this battle, it was the start of the end of the Persian wars. -

Delian League
This picture shows the Athens alliances with other Greek-city states. There were 150 city-states that joined the Delian League group to make greek the strongest city-state. The members had to contribute money and ships to common defense funds. One rule is you could not withdraw without the consent of all members.
