Until the year 1890, Bismarck was made chancellor of the new German Empire in 1871. He was removed by Kaiser William II in 1890. Bismark also established realpolitik- which is realistic politics based in the needs of the state which made power more important than priciple

Bismarck was begging to worry about the socialist movements Germany was starting to have. So he instituted the Anit Soacialist Laws which banned socialist organizations and meetings and socialist literature.

By the time 1890 came by, Otto Von Bismarcks policies began to come under fire. On March 18, 1890 two years after Emperor William II's accession, Bismarck finally resigned. He would only live 8 years more.
