A declaration that the tariff of 1828 and 1832 were void in the state of South Carolina. -
Jackson’s Proclamation
Jackson stated that states cannot make national rulings/tariffs void, that it was an unconstitutional decision from the states government, and to warn and ask the people of the state not to secede and commit treason along with their state government. -
Force Bill
The Force Bill allowed the president to enforce tariffs, even able to go as far as using the military.
