    According to NATA mission statement on the website, the most important task is to enhance the quality of health care provided by certified athletic trainers and to advance the athletic training profession. This was accomplished by forming committees, bylaws, memberships and branding the company with a logo. To date NATA has 40-full time staff and 35,000 members worldwide.     National Athletic Trainers’ Association
    Founded in 1950, National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) first meeting place was in Kansas City. This meeting was held to converse about the directional career and profession path. During the meeting a standard was set for all professions. The first ever certification for athletic trainers emerged in this meeting. The major criteria areas were education, research, a standard of excellent professionalism and practice settings.

    Job duties
    The mandatory educational requirement is a degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum. This is necessary because injury and illness prevention are needed whether the trainer is on the football, baseball field or the basketball court. The trainers must be able to administer first aid treatment or handle delicate emergency care. Therefore, understanding human anatomy, basic nutrition and physiology is very important.

    The well-developed secondary-level teaching was put in place to ensure that students are prepared to teach in classrooms or practice as an athletic trainer. As students progressed through schooling, the subject major focuses on athletic training evaluation, human anatomy, nutrition, psychology organization and physics. This prepared students for field work or careers in the field.

    The success of the program was growing. It started to gain the attention of many health professionals. With such success, the program gained the recognized as an allied health profession and the first certification examination program materialized; therefore, accreditation was needed. The commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) provided such comprehensive accrediation services.

    NATA program educational proficiencies opened the doors for many undergraduate students. In this year, Athletic training became a concentrated major course study. Students could choose this program as a career and complete classes offered in 4 years. After the completed years students could began working.
  • New organizations formed

    New organizations formed
    The organization of CAHEA folded and CAAHEP emerged. This allowed many other organizations to open. CAAHEP became the largest programmatic accreditor to filter students into the field of health science. The support of such company allows students to have access to a vary resources. This allows students to complete internships with an array of universities and companies.

    Educational Task Force
    The committees and Board of Directors developed a team that would review and analyze the athletic training education program. The Education Task Force duties were to improve the quality of classes for undergraduate, graduate and continuing education courses. The purpose was to guarantee and support the learning environment and broaden the array of benefits in students’ career.

    The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) employees’ are passionate and come from diverse backgrounds, are unique and creative human anatomy science thinkers. Their passion is embraced by a collaboration of physicians, health care professionals, clients and colleagues. To me the world path of Athletic is a profession I want to explore.

    Careers
    Upon graduation, a student could embark in a range of job paths. For example, the directional path could be an injury prevention/wellness specialist, head athletic trainer/lecturer, graduate assistant, clinical outreach. Also, athletic trainer and clinical education curriculum specialist are offered as well. Employment can be in local or out of state. The states range from Florida to California and New York.
