    Napoleon had decided to try and invade Italy, which wasn't too good of an idea as his troops weren't the best. However, he ended up successful in the invasion, and won against the enemies. This is a turning point in his career and gained him major popularity among the French people.
  • Egyptian Campaign (Red)

    France decided to invade Egypt to help with their trade and economy, but France had lost the invasion. This was not good for Napoleon as he had lost the invasion, as well as the proclaimed trade and economy boosts.
  • Banque de France (Green)

    The Banque de France was created under Napoleon. It fixed the nation's economy when it was created, giving Napoleon a lot of supporters. It helped the people manage their debt, housing, food, etc.
  • Concordat of 1801 (Red)

    This gave the people in France a sort of freedom of religion, and putting the government over the church. This failed because Napoleon still used religion throughout his time as Emperor.
  • Consul for life (Green for him, possibly red for others)

    Napoleon had made himself consul for life. This meant that he would rule in place of his children, even though he hadn't had any children at the time. This was good for him as he most likely had more time to rule France, but for his future son and the people of France, it might not have been so good.

    This was a code in France that gave it a legal system. Although it was not the best system, it is still used in France today, but is rarely put into action.
  • Declared Self Emperor (Yellow)

    During the coronation, Napoleon took the crown from the Pope, and declared himself the Emperor of France. He said he did it because he thought a King was modern not modern enough, nor ambitious enough.
  • Battle of Trafalgar (Red)

    This was a battle between France and Spain against Britain. France's and Spain's goal was to get naval control over the British Canal to let their troops enter safely, allowing them to eventually invade Britain. This failed, and the British won against France and Spain.

    Napoleon had ended the Roman Empire after it had been around for over 1000 years.
  • Continental System (Yellow)

    This was put in place to prevent France from trading with other nations. However, he found a way around it and continued to trade.
  • Invasion of Russia (Red)

    Napoleon had tried to invade Russia to force them to stop their trade with the British, but ended up losing the invasion. He did conquer Moscow, it the Russians had abandoned the town. When Napoleon tried to go back the other way, winter had started. Because of this, the Russian army and citizens had a big advantage over the French, untimetly winning them the defense.

    France invaded Spain in order to force them to assist them in their invasion of Britain, but Spain refused. At first, France was winning, but then the British came to Spains' help and stopped the invasion by France. Throughout this, most people in Spain continued to fight and refuse to join the French even if they would die.
  • Battle of Nations at Leipzig (Red)

    This was a battle between the French and Austria, Russia, Prussia, and Sweden. Napoleon was forced to push troops further into a city, which he succeeded at, but there were more troops surrounding the French from all sides. Because of this, Napoleon had no choice but to retreat and bring his troops back. During their retreat, a bridge was blown up, and most of the retreating troops had been trapped in the city of Leipzig.
  • Hundred Days (Red)

    This is the time between Napoleon's exile, and when he came back from exile. In this time, many battles started, and Napoleon had gathered some troops to try and take back the throne, but eventually King Louis XVIII took over the throne.
  • Waterloo (Red)

    This was a battle near Waterloo between the French and the British. The British won against the French, and ended a war that had been going on for 23 years. It also hurt Napoleon's reputation a lot.
