    Despite the loss of a decent amount of soldiers, the Italian Campaign was a huge victory for Napoleon and the French army. Napoleon and his army conquered much of north Italy for France, sending Napoleon into power.

    Although there was some success during the Egyptian campaign, at the battle of the Nile the French army was defeated by the British. However Napoleon escaped and told the French that it was a triumphant victory.

    The Consulate was the French government for a short period of time (1799-1804). Napoleon was one of the consulates. They abolished feudalism and made the government much more efficient.

    In 1800 Napoleon helped establish Banque de France or the Bank of France. This greatly helped the struggling French economy after the French Revolution.

    The Concordat was an agreement between the pope and Napoleon that reinstated their Catholic Church into France after it had ban banished during the French Revolution. This allowed catholic people to worship freely and ended up giving some power to Napoleon.

    In 1802 Napoleon declared himself the Consul of Life, which started the complete shift of power to him. Although this was a huge win for Napoleon, last time the French had a single leader it didn’t turn out well.

    After defeating the Holy Roman Empire in battle, Napoleon forced Francis II to leave the throne. The gave Napoleon and the French Empire way more power over Europe.

    The Continental system was an attempt to stop the British from trading with other nations proclaimed in the decrees of Berlin However Napoleon’s navy did not have enough power to stop the British from trading.

    After conquering Spain, many of Spain’s residents were unhappy with the French rule over them and they started to resist French rule. They overtook some areas where there were few French soldiers. However the French did suppress a large uprising in a Madrid in early may of 1808

    In an attempt to invade Russia, Napoleon lost hundreds of thousands of troops due to the brilliant plan of the Russians and the cold winter.

    In the largest battle of all of his wars, Napoleon tried to regain control over Germany. However the coalition decisively defeated him and his 200,000 troops.

    Following his defeats in Leipzig and Russia, Napoleon was finally forced to abdicate the throne of the French empire. Although the people at the time thought this was a win, it was the beginning of end for Napoleon.

    Following his exile to Elba, Napoleon returned after his replacement king wasn’t working out. For Napoleon this was a great win, but his lack of success during this time was painful for him and his country.

    The battle of Waterloo was Napoleons final defeat as not too long after he would be exiled to St Helena, once again leaving the throne. The battle started because the coalition countries wanted Napoleon to be off the throne forever, and after winning they got what they wanted.
