    IBM introduced its first Personal Computer in 1981, it was called the IBM 5150. This was the first PC to gain widespread recognition and adoption.

    Microsoft Word by Bill Gates and Paul Allen was created and didn't really take off until 1989. This was still significant though as it would lay the groundwork for the program that we all use today.

    The Apple Macintosh computer by Steve Jobs was the most anticipated PC release ever. This was also the first computer to feature both a mouse and GUI. It wasn't a perfect device but it was very important in the history of commercial personal computers.

    Nintendo released the Game Boy and it was incredibly successful. It is widely known as many people's first consoles. Over 100 million Game Boys have been sold and it is one of the most successful consoles of all time.
