Along with raising awareness for mental health, it is crucial to decrease the stigma surrounding mental illness. When students have a deeper understanding of mental illness, they will be able to empathize and respond appropriately to individuals with mental illness. -

There are so many ways to integrate mental health into the classroom environment! Bulletin boards and posters are a great way to provide student with access to quality information! -

There are a variety of picture books that can be used to teach students about mental health. Picture books are useful because they can be incorporated accross all grade levels. -
Teachers and Mental Health
Teachers have a crucial role to play in regard to promoting mental health education in the classroom. Teachers also have the responsibility to identify and intervene when necessary.
