We gained the land of the 13 colonies by going in war with Brittan. We also made the Declaration of Independance and got our independance. The purpose of the Declaration of Independance was to break away from Great Britan and gain our independance. We were succesful to gain our independance. This war made our economy really weak.

We got all of this land with military conquest. New states were, made such as Illionois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. There were also some requierments for land to become a state. The states would have to ban slavery, give a free education, Count each slave as 1/3 of a person, and have a population 60,000.

We bought all of this land from France. This purchase also gave us the Mississippi river which helped us with transportation. Thomas Jeferson bought this land for 10 million dollars.

This was when Mexico didn't give its land that are today California, Nevada, and Utah. There was a trety to stop us from going to war with Mexico. It was called The Treaty Of Guadaluse.

This was when we took control of Texas from Mexico. This started when the people of the south went to Texas for a better life but Mexico broke its promise and disagreed for slave being there and they also had to change thier religion. They also had to become Mexican citizens. Thats when we went in war with Mexico and to Texas.

This purchase costed 10 million dollars that is now Arizona, and New Mexico. We were trying to avoid war with Mexico.
