What is multicultural education? What are the goals of multicultural education?
Multicultural Education consists of more than one race, language, and culture. So as you can imagine it can be very difficult teach a class to so much diversity, but it will be a rewarding experience if done in a right way. Seeing two or more cultures come together and working together brings me more happiness then anything. Knowing that we can get past our difference and work for a common purpose is what teaching all about. Goals involved in multicultural educatiion should challenge oneself.

How does multicultural education reflect responsive teaching to help meet the academic needs of diverse student populations?
Multicultural Education reflects responsive teaching because it allows students to learn about each other, and learns things that they have probably never seen before. They can see and get to know about other parts of the world, and experience things they would never have experienced before from their peers. It is great opportunity to learn and teach each other.

I know that with multicultural education there are several heated groups about bilingual education in schools in AZ. There are people who want their childrent o learn another language, and there are people just want to learn English. Then there are those who still have prejudices agains African Americans. This cause problems and prevents teachers from teaching. Then politics get in the way, and the students are the ones that suffer the most.

During this course I have learned that there is a lot more multicultural education in the United States then I thought there was. I feel that it would only be fair and logical to understand the students personal life to see how you can best help them at school. Obviously you wont be able know everything, but let me know you care and want them to succeed. Let them feel that they are needed. Let them share about themselves and their family. Teach to their strengths and you wont regret it.
