VHS
My family works on a farm so it was easy to put a VHS in while she attended things around the house. My favorite and first movie I remember watching was Thumbelina! -
Boombox
Boomboxes were introduced in the late 1970s but had an additional stero capabilities similar to a radio-cassette recorder (1976). On the same day my parents showed me their typewriters we found an old boombox and played old tape cassets throughtout the day. -
Typewriter
The first typewriter is invented by Christopher Sholes with a QWERTY keyboard. My parents were cleaning out their attic and showed their personal typewriters and even allowed my to type some! -
Modern Pencil
In 1795, Nicolas-Jacques Conte created the first pencil by mixing clay with graphite than later pressed between two pieces of wood.

Computers
Computers are first introduced into public schools (1977). My parents bought their first computer where I mainly played video games but this was my first real introduction with a computer. -
Calculator
The Texas Instruments invented the first hand held calculator (1967). After entering the 3rd grade my teacher showed me the basics on a calculator. -
Google
Google becomes one of the largest search engines (1998). I learned about the fastest search engines when I was completing a research assignment in elementary. -
Discman
The first portable CD player was introduced to the market (1984). For my 8th birthday, I was given a portable discman where I could play my music and help out around the farm at the same time. -
Oregon Trail
The Oregon Trail became the first educational/interactive game adopted by public schools (1985). When we had completed our assignments for the day, we were able to play this fun interactive game when I was in elementary. -
WWW
The World Wide Web or better known as www is introduced to the public (1991). When I was first introduced to the internet, my teacher would have us reasearch various topics using www. -
Cellphone
Everyone in my grade level had a cell phone but my parents felt I should wait to grow up more. So finally as a freshman in high school, I got my first cell phone. -
Facebook
The Facebook world is introduced to high schoolers after only being used by Harvard students (2005). I always heard the buzz about Facebook but never joined till after meeting so many cool people at EFY that I wanted to stay in contact with them so I caved in and created an account. -
iPod
The first iPods produced by Apple are new to the technology world (2001). Once my parents realized how outdated the discman was, I got my first iPod for Christmas when I was 16. -
First Laptop
When I was completing my Senior year of high school, my parents gave my my first laptop to complete scholarships and school assignments. Needless to say that after 4 years of hard use, I need a new one desperately. -
iPhone
After many years using an old school phone, my parents decided to up-grade all of the kids and give us an iPhone as a Christmas gift. So far its my favorite type of technology.
