Father Dies
His Father died leaving the thrown to Ivan when he was only three years old. His mother had to take over until Ivan was fit to rule. -

When his mother died and his family did not rule (temporarily) -

Crowned as Tsar
He was finally old enough to rule and was crowned "tsar and grand prince of all Russia" -

He married his wife Anastasiya Romanovna only one month after he was crowned tsar. -

Anastasiya Romanovna dies
His wife died forcing him into erratic behavior and depression. -

Announces abdicating
Ivan was distraught after his wife died and announced his abdication causing the boyars to have to try and convince him to come back. -

Ivan comes back
He accepts the boyars' request to come back on the condition of receiving land that he can rule absolutely and the ability to deal with the war traitors however he wished because of how upset he was with them. -

he has his first execution leading to a long chain of anger fueled executions. -

Unborn Grandchild dies
In a violent outburst he beat his pregnant daughter causing a miscarriage. -

Becomes obsessed with death
When Ivan's health begins failing he becomes obsessed with it and begins calling upon witches and soothsayers to help him. -

Kills son
In an extremely violent outburst he killed his only viable heir to the thrown. This decision caused much turmoil for Russia after Ivan died. -

After his health began to fail he finally died
