After the death of Anastasia, he started to turn against the boyars and organized his own police force that would hunt and murder those who were threats. Thousands of people died, and Ivan seized boyas' estates and gave them to a new class of nobles. -

His second son was very weak, and coudln't handle such a responsibilty. So, the Rurik dynasty ended, and in came Micahel Ramanov and the Ramanov dynasty started and lasted 300 years.
