    Arab people did not like the idea of splitting Israel so they attacked the Jews. The Jews ended up winning and gaining control of even more land.

    Israelis have created and maintained settlements

    Israelis have created and maintained settlements even though it is illegal they have expanded their settlements, believing the OT rightfully belongs to the Jews.
  • Six Day War

    Israel launched a suprise attack and captured East Jerusalem and the West Bank from Jordan, Gaza and Sinai from Egypt and the Golan Heights from Syria.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Egypt and Syria end up launching a surprise attack on Israeli forces in Sinai and the Golan Heights. After initial gains by Egypt and Syria, Israel declares a cease-fire to repel both armies.
  • Signs of peace

    The Egyptian president Anwar Sadat makes a surprise visit to Jerusalem as well as the US President Jimmy Carter who makes peace between Egypt and Israel. Then Egypt becomes the first Arab nation to recognize Israel, and Israel withdraws from the rest of Sinai.

    Intifada

    The angered Palestinians began an uprising, with stone-throwing youths attacking Israeli soldiers. Which led to the first suicide attack on civilians in Israel in 1989 and lasted all the way through until 1990.
