    Declaring Independence

    In 1947, the UN voted to change the British owned Palestine to Jewish and Arab countries. The Arabs didn't like this idea, then to add to their anger Israel declares independence on May 1948, 6 of the arab states attack Israeli people. Israel then defeats the Arabs and gains more territory. Jeresulms control was then divided between Jordan and Israel.

    Expanding

    Israeli's have created and maintained settlement with Jewish communities In the Occupied Territories. Although, this is illegal they continue the spread of the settlements. The communities are surrounded by saftey zones, meaning Palestenines are not allowed to farm and not allowed to use some roads.
  • Six Day War

    After a while relations between the 3 neighbors got worse. Egypt sends away its peacekeepers are prepares its army, Israel sends out a suprise attack. Jordan, Syria, and Iraq then join in on the violence. They then capture some places, and is known as the six day war.
  • Peace forming

    There were sign of peace forming. Anwar Sadat’s surprise visit to Jerusalem, President Jimmy Carter broke peace between Israeland Egypt. Egypt became the first Arab nation to realize Israel, and Israel backs out from the rest of Sinai.

    Very mad about Iraeli's occupation, Palestenians start an uprising, with pelting stones at israeli soldiers. The first suicide attack on civilians in Israel occurs in 1989.
