    The first fleet, consisting of 11 ships arrived at Port Jackson, Australia. The ships held a lot of criminals who had committed a crime back in England and were now forced to live in Australia for the rest of their lives. When the British settlers arrived, the indigenous population suffered greatly and were struck by many unfamiliar diseases, were forced to be a part of western society, and were murdered. This meant that the white Englishmen could treat the aboriginals however they wanted.

    The Slave trade began in the 17th century. A part of the slave trade was the triangular trade. Triangular trade: Ships in Britain loaded with manufactured merchandise, as well as textiles and rum. - sail 4 months West Africa - The goods would be exchanged for slaves - Sail over the Atlantic to sell the slaves for auction in America to owners of large plantations to work as slaves - The ships would then be loaded up with cotton, sugar, and tobacco and later sail back to Europe.
