    Chris changes his name to Alex in hope that he can start a new life for himself. He wants to be someone new who is not caught up in the meterial things of the world.

    Chris canoes down the Colorado River and many other bodies of water. In January, he has to abandon the canoe due to bad weather. Chris has not been in contact with hukmans for 36 days.

    Chris lives in Las Vegas. When he arrives, he has no I.D. and no money. He has to work at an italian resteraunt to pay for the bare necessities to stay alive.

    Chris lives in Bullhead City, Arizona for the 2 monthes. He works at Mcdonals in order to, onec again, pay for the bare necessities. This could possibly be the longest Chris has every stayed somewhere throughout his jouney. It is rare for him to stay at a place for two monthes.

    Chirs lives with Ron. Ron teaches Chris how to work with leather. Chris made a belt with pictures on it and it told a story about his journey. Chris lived with Ron for a while. Before Chris left, Ron asked him if he could adopt him since his only child and wife were killed by a drunk driver.

    Ron drops Chris off at Grand Junction so he can make his way to South Dakota. Chris has $1,000 from working at various places. While in South Dakota, he becomes very attached to everyone there. HEemakes some great friends.

    Chris catches a ride from a man named Gaylord Stuckey. They are both on their way to Faibanks Alaska and the trip takes about three days. Chris takes this time in the car to prepare himself for the rest of the journey ahead.

    Chris would stay in an abandoned bus that was so called "magic". The bus belonged to the city of Fairbanks. Chris acted like it was his little home.

    Chris wants to try and leave the bus to go into town that is just across the Taklanica River. The river has swelled almost 5 times its original size and has become violent and uncrossable. Chris ends up going back to the bus.

    Chris's death was based on many reasons. Chris did starve to death. He also died because he was eating a plant with a fungus growing off of it. This was said to be a sprouted potatoe plant. 19 days after he died, his body was found. He was only 24 years old. He spent 113 days in the wild and when his body was found it only weighed 77 pounds.

    Chris and his siter were extremely close. With this said, she was beyond saddened. She lost large amounts of weight and did not know how to handle the tramatic situation of her brother dying.

    Ron picks up two hitch hikers and begins to tell them about Chris and their experiences together. One of the hikers informs Ron that Chris is dead. Ron is in disbelief. He is very saddened by this news.

    Chris's family visits the bus and sees what Chris lived like for all that time. It gave them some answers. They left a bronze plaque there in honor of their son.
