Who knows 234

From Day 1 to Day 1,000,000

  • First Lie/Date

    First Lie/Date
I didn't want to hang out that Sunday. I felt awful, hadn't taken a shower, didn't want to get off the couch. But something about him did spark my interest. And I could hear my mother saying, "If you don't put yourself out there, you will be old and single." So I went. And he lied. He said he was going to watch Avatar that day which I had already told him was my plan. He then promptly went out to buy Avatar and movie snacks. We talked for about 4 hours and almost forgot to watch the movie.
  • Period: to

    From Smitten to Love'n

    Our time together.
  • 2nd Date

    2nd Date
Our second date was a blast! Although he almost lost it when he showed up with his hair all gelled! lol....so fancy. We went to Kona Grill, Woodland Bowling, and played at Westfield Park. He realized that, if we kept dating, his manliness was going to always be in question since I beat him in bowling. We had a blast playing at the park and I was so glad I was dating someone I could be myself and play with.
  • 3rd Date is a charm

    3rd Date is a charm
Some girls may kiss on the 3rd date, but not me. Ok--who am I kidding...I definitely wanted him to kiss me on the third date. We went frisbee golfing which is one of his favorite pasttimes. He plays all the time and this was my first time. According to my memory, I beat him then too. We finished the night at Mudsocks for dinner and talked in the parking lot for way too long. Neither of us wanted to leave each other and we were both thinking about the first kiss. But someone (Chris) was a chicken
  • A kiss that speaks volumes is seldom a first edition.

A kiss that speaks volumes is seldom a first edition.
Our 4th date was a doosy. We went to Morty's Comedy Club and Britton Tavern afterwards. I "officially" met most of his friends. His friend, Bobby, gave me "the talk" about not hurting Chris. Then we went to his apartment and that is when Chris would say "divine intervention" stepped in. He lost power at his apt. so he lit a bunch of candles around the apt. and sat next to me on the couch. He started putting the moves on me and I had to concede. He was way too cute. The first kiss was amazing.
  • Our first "fight"

    Our first "fight"
We made it to the phase where we wanted to start hanging out during the week too. Weekends weren't good enough. So we hung out on a Wednesday. We went out to dinner at Cancun and went back to my place. Chris LOVES marshmallows and he found some ginormous mallows so we decided to roast them over my electric stove. Naturally, if one is eating something gooey and sticky, he/she should smoosh that gooey/sticky object in another's face. I mallowed Chris. He mallowed me back. Hence, our first fight.
  • Officially Official

    Officially Official
It's no surprise to anyone that I'm a bit of a slowpoke. In a lot of difference ways, especially in relationships. It took awhile, but I quickly realized that Chris was the only person I wanted to be with. We became officially together on June 11th while sitting on his couch. It may have taken me an hour to say it....but he knew what I wanted....to be only with him :)
  • Fishers Freedom Fest

    Fishers Freedom Fest
We had a lot of fun hanging out at Bobby and Becca's for the Fishers Freedom Fest. The most memorable part of the entire day was when Chris sucked helium out of a balloon turned to me in front of all his friends and started singing, "I don't want anybody else, when I think about you I touch myself." Oh my, I knew I was in trouble at that point.
  • 4th of July

    4th of July
Last minute, we decided that Chris and all his friends would spend the 4th of July at the lake...which meant my family's house..which meant meeting the parents. I wasn't ready for that yet--but alas, it had to happen sometime. As the dutiful boyfriend, he came up early to help make food and get ready. He, of course, did wonderfully with the parents and they loved him.
  • The first drunk dial

Maggie receives her first drunk dial from Chris....or maybe I drunk dialed Chris. Either way, we were both drunk so memory could be fuzzy. I was at a bachelorette party in Chicago and he was at a friend's house. Turns out, I was on speaker phone with all of his friends. Always a good time.
  • Symphony on the Prarie

    Symphony on the Prarie
I loved attending Symphony on the Prarie concerts when my friend Jenny worked there, but I had never been with Chris. So we went to the Buddy Holly concert. It was wonderfully perfect. We sat on a blanket on the lawn, with sandwiches, cheese, crackers, and wine and listened to wonderful music all night while cuddling together.
  • Beer Olympics

    Beer Olympics
I was a Beer Olympics virgin before I met Chris--and I think that was a good thing. I was simply a cheerleader during this grand event that involved, as you may have guessed, a lot of beer and a lot of weird events with drunken participants. Chris played cornhole, did a few relay races, and drank a lot of beer. I must admit this was not one of his more attractive moments, but I was still falling completely in love with him.
  • Tipton Pork Festival

    Tipton Pork Festival
I must admit, I was a little nervous to attend this event due to the fact that the last time Chris went to the Pork Festival, he ended up throwing up the entire way home. However, we had a blast kicking back redneck style, visiting booths, and eating pork barbeque. Unfortunately, I had soccer at 6am the next morning so I called it an early evening.
  • Camping Trip!

    Camping Trip!
Chris and I went with our friends Bobby and Becca to Harrison Crawford State Park in southern Indiana. The area was right off of the Ohio River and it was gorgeous in the fall. We had so much fun cooking on the fire, roasting marshmallows, playing football, hiking, and just sitting around the fire talking. It was a great getaway and Chris and I even managed to survive putting up a tent together!!
  • Chris' 29th Birthday!

    Chris' 29th Birthday!
I love making birthdays special. So I basically made Chris take 2 days off for his birthday extravaganza. It started off with cinnamon rolls and brownies for his breakfast. Then, we spent the day at the Indianapolis Children's Museum as he had never been and he's basically a child at heart. After the museum, I took him to a candy store which he LOVED, we watched a few scary movies (because I hate them and he loves them). Then we had a surprise dinner for him at Tomo Japanese Steakhouse.
  • First Halloween

    First Halloween
Our first Halloween together was a blast. We had two parties--one with his friends and one with mine. He went as a dork/geek/nerd (which really he didn't even need to dress up for because those are his true colors) and I dressed up as Inspector Gadget....Go Go Gadget arm!! Those were also a few drunken nights...but I do believe I had to sew Chris' outfit once or twice due to a rip in the butt area.
  • Zac Brown Band

Our first concert together was Zac Brown Band and it was amazing! We went with our friends, Schoney, Betsy and Shaun. I'm not sure what Chris did while I spent the entire night singing and standing up dancing, but I'm sure he had fun too. I also remember that that was his first week away in California for work so he greeted me with a rose :)
  • Bonfire

We invited all of our friends up for a bonfire at my parent's barn. Nothing better than a bonfire with friends, beer, cornhole, music, food, and.......throwing old kitchen furniture on the fire???
  • My Birthday

    My Birthday
Chris really raised the bar for my birthday. First of all, he flew home from California to celebrate. Then, he did the most romantic thing ever---his flight came in at 1am on Friday morning (my birthday). So on the way home from the airport, he stopped by and picked me up a cake and bought candles. He lit them in the car before he came into my house and played happy birthday on his phone as he walked into my room. It was soooooo sweet. We also went to a wonderful restaurant downtown called Adobo
  • Disney Land, CA

    Disney Land, CA
Chris was spending 3 months in Orange County, CA for work. He was able to come home about every weekend (to keep me sane), but I decided to spend a weekend out there visiting. We had a wonderful time. We got to spend an evening with my cousin, Sarah and make my first trip to Disney Land!
  • Chris' 1st CBD

Chris experienced his 1st Cookie Baking Day! He did a wonderful job keeping up with all the friends and family from my past. He also did a pretty darn good job decorating some cookies...and eating them too, of course.
  • Christmas Time!

Chris was home from California for a week at Christmas! So i spent "Christmas Eve and Christmas morning" on Dec. 21st/Dec. 22nd with his family. I also traveled with him to Illinois to be with his mom's side of the family. We ate a lot of food, played a lot of games, and trained for the marathon.
  • Christmas at Maggie's

    Christmas at Maggie's
Chris came to spend some time with my family at Christmas too! He spent the day with me, my brother, sister-in-law and Sophia. We played a lot of Just Dance which was a blast!
  • New Year's Eve

    New Year's Eve
Chris and I got to spend NYE 2011 with our friends Bobby and Becca, Shaun and Betsy, Schoney and Jamie, and Sarah Wathen! We had such a blast just hanging out, playing beer pong, dancing, eating, and altogether acting like fools. But acting like fools in good company. It was the first time I'd had a boyfriend on NYE for about 4 years and it was a blast!
  • The Parent Meeting

The official meeting of our parents was a little scary, but turned out just fine. His parents came to my parents house to watch the Colts game, play some cards, and eat dinner. We had a great time and everyone hit it off just fine! Crisis adverted!
  • Disney World

    Disney World
I traveled down to Florida with all the Figge's to run my first ever half marathon and to visit the magical world of Disney! I successfully ran my first 13.1 mile race ever while the Figge's did the Goofy Challenge (I think they are nuts). We stayed in an awesome cabin, relaxed and watched a lot of movies, and visited Hollywood Studios!
  • Ice Hockey

Chris got his first dose of ice hockey on the lake. He got a pair of hockey skates from my parents so we hit that frozen pond hard. He quickly went from a novice skater to a determined hockey player. It was a lot of fun to play with him...and the doubting Thomas finally believed me about the laking freezing over.
  • Chris' Homecoming!

    Chris' Homecoming!
After 3 months working in California, Chris finally came home on Jan. 28th. I officially survived 3 months without him...although I thought about going insane a few times. I missed him so much! But he came home at 1am to a sweet surprise. I had made him a poster with pictures of friends and quotes from them about why they were excited he was home. I also made a book for him that talked about what had happened while he was gone. And, of course, there was a welcome home cake waiting for him.
  • Period: to

Year 2 was a great year

  • First Valentine's Day

    First Valentine's Day
Although I've had wonderful Valentine's Days for the past 4 years of my single life, Chris made this Valetine's Day the best I've ever had! In fact, He decorated his entire house with streamers, heart banners that zig-zagged through every room, rose petals on the floor, and 2 huge balloon displays. He also got me 2 bouquets of flowers; roses, of course and daisies, my favorite. We had a very romantic dinner at Melting Pot! It was delicious! My favorite part though, was what he wrote in his card.
  • SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!

    SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!
Me, Chris, Schoney, and Jill went skiing in southern Indiana at Perfect North. It's a small resort of course, but it was so much fun! It felt great to ski as it was my first time in 9 years!! We went night skiing from 6pm-1am so it was cold, but it was so beautiful on such a clear night with a full moon!
  • My Man Slave

Chris excelled wonderfully being my man slave as I had a procedure done to remove my head bumps! He took real good care of me and got me chinese and soup!
  • Washington D.C. Trip!

    Washington D.C. Trip!
Chris and I flew out to D.C. to visit my brother, sister in law, and Sophia Mae. We had a wonderful visit. We got to see their new place and hit up some sights downtown like the ZOO! The National Zoo was a ton of fun and we got to see new lion cubs! We walked around the Mall downtown and visited the Washington Monument. We also paroused through the American History Museum. We got to see the nation's original Flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the National Anthem.
  • Huber's Winery and 4th Street Live

  • Our Engagement Weekend!

    Our Engagement Weekend!
You swept me off my feet by picking me up from work, putting me on a plane, taking me to a beautiful cabin in Estes Park, Colorado, and made the sweetest most memorable proposal ever in the history! Of course it was a YES!
  • Halloween as Bert and Ernie

    Halloween as Bert and Ernie
We had a great time at Becca and Bobby's Halloween party. The theme was TV characters so we went as Bert and Ernie and we couldn't see anything in those huge paper mache heads!
  • Visit to D.C.

    Visit to D.C.
In November, we went to go meet Owen James for the 1st time...and to show off my engagement ring of course!
  • My 27th Birthday

    My 27th Birthday
For my 27th birthday, you threw a great party for me at my house. You decorated the house so nicely and you made me an awesome 4 layer cake! Very impressive babah!
  • Oh Christmas Tree!

    Oh Christmas Tree!
We picked out the most perfect, longest lasting Christmas tree for our 1st tree and our only engaged Christmas together! We went with both our families, you cut our tree down, and had some yummy hot chocolate!
