    During the cold war in 1957 the soviet union was the first country to launch an artificial sattellite into orbit. This was the first time a computer device could send signal back to earth, so the internet owes its beginging to the cold war.

    IN 1966 IPTO developed a computer network capable of transmitting information over the phone lines. This was the gateway into modern computer technology.

    In 1972 researcher developed a program which enabled you to send send breif messages over the network. This was a gateway to ims and email.

    In 1982 ARPA started using TCP/IP which was known as the super network, and other networks foloowed suit.

    In 1991 a search program called gopher is developed which paved the way for search programs like google.
