James Hargreaves invented the spinning Jenny which was a faster way to spin yarn. His invention was a single spinning wheel that could spin eight spindles at once. Other weavers were fearful of their jobs and destroyed the original copy. Others began selling the spinning Jenny before he was able to patent it.
