Leaving Italy
As a result of the sterile farming land in Italy and the Homestead Act in America, I decided to move to America to live with my brother and his family. -
Making Money
Since I need money to be able to live in America, I sold the jewelry I had made in Italy for profit. -
Living with My Family
As soon as I found my older brother and his family, we decided to move to California to be farmers. -
Death of a Nephew
Before moving to California, my brother's son was killed in a railroad accident, but we decided to keep with our plan and move out west. -
Heading to California
Even though California is a long distance away from the East Coast, we are moving for the fertile land and we are going to have a grape orchard (winery) -
Settled in California
Though California has a large population, we were able to find a land to have our grape farm (winery) on. -
Farming the Land
While my brother works in the part of the winery that processes the grapes, the rest of his family and I work out on the farm. -
Getting Married
After meeting Giovanni, an another Italian farmer (citrus farmer) in town, we got married in December. -
Homestead Happiness
After marrying Giovanni, I started living with him on his citrus farm and we sell the fruits for a living.
