    Gilgamesh was the king of Uruk. He was a cruel man. He did whatever he pleased, because he did not care about anything. The people of Uruk wanted peace, so Anu, the goddess of creation, makes Enkidu, who will challenge Gilgamesh to a fight, which Gilgamesh won. But the fight changed Gilgamesh. Him and Enkidu become friends, and decide to go to the Cedar Forest to fight Humbaba. They would win the battle and become great frinds.

  • Hammurabi's Code

    1792-1750 BCE
    Hammurabi was the king of Babylon. Hammurabi's Code was a code of laws that he made that he thought would help his country. Most of the laws would end up leaving you dead, if you disobeyed them. Which is saying that Hammurabi thought death was the answer of didobeying his code.
  • Joseph goes to Egypt and the Israelites follow

    Approximately 1700-1280 BCE
    Jacob's favorite son was Joseph. Joseph's brothers got so jealous of him that they faked his "accidental" death and sold Joseph into slavery. A slaveowner carried him to Egypt. Pharaoh asked Joseph to interpret his dreams, he did so well that he was appointed prime minister. Joseph's brothers came to Egypt to apologize to Joseph and Joseph forgave them. Afterwards, his whole family moved to Egypt. When a famine hit Palestine, Joseph moved all the Israelites to Egypt.
  • Moses, the Exodus from Egypt, and the Ten Commandments

    Moses was suppose to be killed when he was a baby, but his mother shipped him in a basket down the river to save him. He was found and raised by Pharaoh's daughter. God told Moses to tell Pharaoh: "Let my people go." Pharaoh refused, then 10 plagues befell Egypt, the tenth one killed Moses. The exodus was the escape fom slavery in Egypt. The Ten Commandments were given to the Israelites, and they accepted. The 10 commandments are a group of laws.

    David was a shepherd. He became king by beating Ish-Bosheth, then the elders of Israel annoint him as king. He is considered important because he fought Goliath, then beat him with his stone. An obstacle was fighting Goliath.

    Elijah was a prophet. His responsibilities were to speak for the gods or a deity.

    About 3000 years ago, the world was at war. The population of the world was 5,000,000 people, which was not a lot. Also, the Assyrians (which is now Iraq) made a model of empire which lasted for centuries. Sennacherib was the ruler of the great empire, and the terror of the Middle East. By 700 BC, the Assyrian Rulers had an empire that stretched from Iran to Egypt.
