The 14th-16th/early 17th centuries are some of the most formative years in world history. The discovery of the Western Hemisphere changed Eurasia and America completely. -

The Printing Press
The printing press is one of the most world-changing items ever made, its inventions completely changed the Renaissance, the Protestant Reformation, and even the Age of Discovery. It completely changed literacy, knowledge, religion, and literature. -

Christopher Columbus
Funded by Spain, Columbus sets off to find new trade routes in the East and accidentally finds new land in the Western Hemisphere. A rudimentary grasp of world geography led Columbus to not understand his discovery until later after it had been dubbed the New World and the Western Hemisphere by others. He is still credited as being the one to begin a new era in history. -

The Columbian Exchange
After the discovery of the existence of the Western Hemisphere, many items began being transferred between the Eastern and Western Hemispheres, completely changing both Eurasian lives and the lives of the indigenous people in the Americas. Made possible by the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery, the exchange between hemispheres became one of the most influential actions in history. -

Humanism is the philosophical ideology that focused on the person themselves, developing a sense of human virtue, benevolence, mercy, and fortitude, just to name a few. Leonardo Da Vinci
Greatly influenced by the Renaissance, and the Age of Discovery, the polymath da Vinci's artistic works reflect the periods that inspired him. Not only did he practice more standard art, and in many other non-artistic fields, his anatomically correct drawings of bodies, muscle structure, ligaments, and other body parts influenced the study of anatomy for years to come. He not only influenced the art world, but also the scientific and medical worlds as well, made possible by the Renaissance. -

Martin Luther
Disturbed by the Catholic Church's corruption, Martin Luther, a German monk, started the Protestant Reformation after posting his 95 theses, his reasons for the protest, on the door of his church. He posted them as a challenge to the Church and its corruption, and with the new ability to print Bibles, the Reformation begins. -

Magellan Expedition
Appointed by Spain, Ferdinand Magellan began his quest to find new trade routes to Asia, through the Americas. He became the first person to circumnavigate the globe. Though he didn't help Spain as much as Spain wanted, his expedition still proved that it was possible to travel around the world. -

Henry VIII
Henry VIII is responsible for the separation of the Catholic Church and England. He created the Church of England, the new state religion of England, and Anglican Christianity, all so he could divorce his first wife and take another. His actions completely changed English history, Christianity, and the power of the Holy Roman Church. -

Scientific Revolution
A series of events, made possible from the knowledge-seeking of the Renaissance period, allows the emergence of Math and Science to progress to a new level. Mathematics, science, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and biology all advanced to a level that gave people a new understanding of the world, and many important people emerge during this time of advancement.
