  • Opium War

    Opium War
    The Opium Wars started in 1839 to 1842 because the British started to trade opium with Hong Kong for tea and silk. Then the trades were not fair and then anyone caught trading with Opium had the punishment of death. The British sold the Opium to the Hong Kong smuggelers to smuggle the opium into Hong Kong and smuggle tea and silk back.Then, the British and the Hong Kong people had war. In the end, the British won so the Hong Kong gave British land for 99 years and signed the Treaty of Nang King.
  • Treaty of Nan King

    Treaty of Nan King
    Queen Victoria and Empror Ching both signed the Treaty of Nan King to mark the end of the first opium war. The Treaty of Nan king changed the Chinese lives. Now in modern days, you can't find opium to smoke with, only cigarettes are used for smoking.
  • Japenese Occupation

    Lots of people died of hunger because they were only allowed 428 g of food a day. Sir Mark Young surrendered to Hong Kong. Lots of people left.The Japenese took over for 3 years and months.

    The Japenese Surrender started in 2nd 1945 and every boby were forced to speak Japenese and they shot alot of Hong Kong people. The Japenese took over for 3years and 9 months. When the Britian Surrendered, Britain still ruled Hong Kong. They droped a bomb in north point and surrendered on a U.S battle ship.

    The 97 Hand Over was to give Hong Kong back to the Chinese, it was held in HKECC and the Chinese people had a big celebration .
  • SARS

    SARS
    SARS was a type of sickness that was very easy to catch and that all the schools had to close down and every body had to wear masks.Any body who had the SARS had to get an injection. SARS started in 7th November 2002 and ended in July 2003. Most people moved back to thier home country. It was very deadly and had a tighter goernment control. Lots of young or old people died and the hospitals and the docters place were cramed full but their were no cure for it. The SARS was more in Kowloon side.
