  • National Assembly

    Revoluitionary legislative body during a small portion of the revolution. It was rather ineffective resulting in Napoleon taking power. It was however for a few months the ruling power of France.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Beggining of the French revolution. The people who were creating laws locked themselves in a tennis court and wrote their declaration.
  • Declaration of the Rights of man

    The french version of the Constitution. Outlines many rights that the people should have. Created during the revolutionary movement.
  • Jacobins

    Political group extremely on the side of the revolution. They did not want anything to do with the old system. They were the anti-federalists of the french revolution.
  • Death of Royal Family

    King Louis the 16th and his wife Marie Antoinette are killed on this date. They are put to death by guillotine. This signifys the end of monarchy in France.
  • Committee of Public Safety

    Committee that was created to ensure that the revolutionary movemnt continued. It was very corrupt and ordered the death of many innocent people.
  • Maximilien Robespierre

    leader of France during the Reign of Terror. Horribly corrupt leader used the government to get rid of competition. Held all of France in the palm of his hand using fear to rule.
  • Reign of terror

    Maximilien abuses the committee of public safety during this time to install fear into the people of France. During this time period thousands of innocent French people are killed for obsene things that would otherwise not have been enforced if not for the fear that was around.
  • Napoleonic Code

    System of laws put in place by Napoleon. Puts the state of the government above that of the individual. This system rebuilds France very effectively.
  • Napoleon Emperor

    Napoleon on this date was crowned emperor of France. This gave him supreme power over all of France. It gave him the power to do everything he wanted to and needed to.
  • Marxism Communist Manifesto

    Karl Marx believed that all issues in society started from social classes. Believed communism would solve these problems.
  • Russo-japanese war

    War between the Russians and the Japanese. the russians lost this is the date the Russians admitted defeat proving the Tsar incompetent. This war led to the revolution years later.
  • Russian Duma

    This was a legislative assembly created after the Tsar Nicholas was proven terrible. For a long time they were ignored. Eventually however they tossed out the Tsar from power.
  • Rasputin

    On this date the "faith Healer" was called on by the Tsar for the first time to heal someones daughter. This put him in good standing with the royal family after it was a "success"
  • February Revolution

    Frist Russian revolution. This was caused because the Russian people were angry with their economy and because they had weak leadership. The leadership hadnt changed and they were still at war.
  • Tsar Nicholas II

    On this date he abdicated the throne. This symbolized the end of their Tsarist regime. He was a horrible and weak leader and this was a change for Russia to take back power in the world.
  • Vladmir Lenin

    This is the date he returned from exile. He had a strong role in the second revolutionary movement as a Marxist. He helped to set up a provisional communist government.
  • Bolsheviks

    on this date the revolted against the Russian government. They were the more communistic party that would later decide to start Russia with a capatalist system.
  • October Revolution

    Government had changed very little after the first revolution. This angered the Bolsheviks and the public. The bolsheviks revolted and won and made Russia communist.
  • Joseph Stalin

    On this date Vladmir Lenin died. Joseph Stalin after this took power in the Russian government. eventually finding himself the leader and pursued industrialization heavily and made Russia strong again.
  • Poverty and Che Guevara

    In this month and date Che Guevara set off on a motorcycle trip around south America. Che Guevara saw much poverty around the continent. this led to Che Guevara becoming a major revolutionist.
  • Che Guevara

    A marxist revolutionist. He went around the americas helping many revolutionary movements. on this date he met Fidel Castro. he helped Castro to win during the Cuban revolution.
  • Communism in Cuba

    This is the date that Fidel Castro took power in Cuba. At this time communism became prominent in Cuba. Under Communist regime Cuba would get isolated and fall behind the rest of the world.
  • Fidel Castro

    This is the Date Fidel Castro's revolution took Batista out of power. A week later Fidel Ccastro took supreme power after putting a communist regime in place.
  • Fulgencio Batista

    This is the date Fulgencio lost power. He lost a revolution against Fidel Castro. Him losing that war allows Fidel Castro to take power and make Cuba a communist government.
  • Embargo

    This is the date that the embargo on Cuba was put in place. It prohibited any trade to the country of Cuba. This embargo led to Cuba being decades behind all other countries around the world
  • Nationalization of Cuba

    In this year Fidel Castro began to take United States corporations and give them to the Cuban government. He did this to try and take away some of the U.S.' control in Cuba.
  • Cold War Cuba

    On this date a U.S. spy plane flew over cuba. The plane found evidence of nuclear missiles being armed and pointed at the U.S. This led to both the U.S. and Russia almost being destroyed.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Spy plane found nuclear missiles being installed and pointed at the United States. Cubans allowed the Russians to put them there. This made America nervous and made both America and Russia very close to being erased during the Cold War.
  • Bay of Pigs

    On this date the exiles of Cuba returned to Cuba. They invaded Cuba in attempt to overthrow the government. The U.S.A. helped them with this invasion but it failed horrendously.
