    The Treaty of Versailles was a peace settlement that was made after World War I ended. The purpose the treaty was to punish Germany for World War I and they where given to options, to sign the treaty or be at war with their Allies.     President Paul von Hindenburg names Adolf Hitler, fÜhrer of the Nazi Party, as chancellor of Germany. After this happened, it become a huge turning point in Germany along with the rest of the world. They planned on passing an Enabling Act by the Reichstag.     In 1931, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) awarded Germany the summer olympics for the year 1936. After Hitler became dictator, the different countries that were supposed to be participating in the olympics boycotted and protested because they did not agree with Hitler's rule and how he was treating the Jewish athletes.
