  • Marconi, Father of Radio

    Marconi, was a itilan inventor sends and recieves the first radio signal. Many were impressed and shocked at his work.
  • Audion Tube

    Lee De Forest "borrowed" the idea of the Audion Tube, a vaccume tube that increased singals. Believed to be the orignal work of a Canadian inventor, Reginald Fessenden.
  • "Personal Radio"

    Some people made their own 'Personal Radio', some like Uncle Charlie. (Which later in the future became very popular for it's day N age.)
  • Radio Station

    One of the first radio statutions is made, 8XK, later renamed KDKA. It was made by Frank Conrad. To this day, it brocastest out to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
  • Dawn of Advertising

    During the 1922's WEAF aired a 10 minute "Commercial" or toll broadcast. The Apartment comlpex they aired in charged $50.
  • The FRC

    Due to Uncle Charlie being too popular, the FRC was established in 1927.
    Which organized a licensing for transmitters. assigning radio station frequencies, call letters, and power limits.

    Soon following the FRC, Call Letters became a thing. W was East of the Mississippi River, and K was West of the Mississippi River/
  • The AM & FM Waves

    AM and FM waves were Amplitude modulations.
    AM was 535 KHz- 1605 KHz
    FM was 88- 108 MHz
  • Golden Era

    During the 30's and 40's (During the Great Depression) People were HURTING, for money.

    The entire family could enjoy each others company while enjoying the TV. Getting Big Band music, storys, situational, and comdies.

  • Radio's Demise

    TV makes appereance in the late 1930's. As popularity grew, Advertisers went to TV. Radio lost money, Radio Shows jumped ships. They said, "TV will do the Radio what the car did to Horses.

    Some famous musicins were Elvis Presley, The Rightenous Brothers, Billie Hoilday, and Louis Armstrong.
  • Music's Few Ways

    Getting music too the public was trickey, there were only a few ways for them to listen to it.
    Jukeboxes, Records, and Live Concerts.
    Music on the Radio filled a void.
  • Radios Progression

    Major Edwin Armstrong invtented the FM transmitter, which made for a stronger signal and higher quaily sound. Listeners were forced to buy new radio sets. Talk on AM, music on FM

    As the Golden Era ended, and enterd a new day N age, it began to fight for it's spot of lime light. Companies like, Pandora, Spotify, ITunes, and Youtube.
