HISTORY OF COMPUTING- Latosha Taylor CIS 105

Timeline created by ltaylor57
  • Known as the father of the computer

  • DESIGN

    Designed Mechanical Calculation, First design of the difference engine
  • HYPOTHESIS

    Noticed that many calculations consist of operations that were regularly repeated;
    Second idea analytical engine
  • PRODUCTION

    The analytical engine would be able to execute operations in non-numeric order through addition of conditional control, store memory and read instructions from punch cards making it a programmable mechanical computer;
  • FAILURE

    Due to lack of funding the design never came to reality
  • TECHNOLOGY

    If it would’ve come to reality it would’ve sped up the invention of the computer by 100 years
  • CHARLES BABBAGE

    CHARLES BABBAGE

  • COLABORATION

    COLABORATION
    ADA LOVELACE-Chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage's early mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine.
  • ACCOLADES

    Known as the First Computer Programmer; English Mathematician; Writer
  • DISCOVERY

    Came up with algorithm that would calculate Bernoulli numbers; Outline many fundamentals of programming, such as data analysis, looping and memory addressing
  • CONTRIBUTIONS

    With the contributions of Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace our lives have richly been enhanced by; paving the way with their knowledge and giving inventors a foundation to build on. Which have resulted in a more technological society.
