First Time In Public
University of Pennsylvania´s Moore School of Electrical Engineering made a storage prgram for the campass, it was public so anyone could use it.
I thought this was a improtant event because it was one of the first devices that was easy enough that anyone could use -
IBM's First Calculator
IBM created a calculato called SSEC that could compute scientific data. Before begin decommissioned in 1952 it helped NASA figure out the moon position table later making the Apollo flight possible. I selected this because it was a big deal to have a calculator, going to space wouldn't have been possible without it. -
The Universities First Computer
John vans Nuemann's IAS computer became operationaland was used at Princeton, University of Illinios, and others. It was the first computer to be used by multipule users. Ths event was important because to have computers on campasses was very advance for college students. -
IBM's First Shipment
IBM shippedits fist electronic compuer. During it's 3 year production IBm sold 19 machines. They sold them to labs, government, and companies. I choose this event because I hougth it was ineresting to know IBM didn't do it's first shipment till 1953. -
CDC's Super Computer
CDC made the 6600 Supercomputer that could prefrom 3 million instructions per minute, for 1965 this was revolutionary. I choose this event becase I thougth it was very cool that the firts supercomputer was made in 1965. -
The Mini Computer
The Mini Computer was built smaller than the typical computer. It sold for 120,000$. Later hackers stole this technolgy and started producing small computers later. I selected this event because I thought it was interesting the stealing and hacking age started on the Mini Computer. -
The Mouse
Xerox created the first built in input mouse. The technolgy was later taken by Apple, sold in mass poduction. Later Xerox closed their computer division. I thought this was really interesting because I never knew where the mouse came from. -
The Apple 1
Apple inc. came out with its firts computer Apple 1 that was a major success. They sold in millions and were revolutionary for the laptop and workstation. I chose this event becasue it s interestign to know where and how one of the biggest computer companies started at. -
The Lisa
Apple computers comes out with the first personal computer made LISA. The Lisa was 10,000$ the high price lead to its ultimate failure. I decided to include this event because this was the first personal laptop. -
IBM PS2
IBm came out with teh PS2 whih had a 3 1/2 inch loppy disk and it also had the latest opertating system OS /2. I thougtht this was ineresting because it was IBm's first personal omputer.
