    Tick-Tock

    Tick-Tock
Liang Ling-Can invents the first mechanical clock. Even though it wasn't very computer-like, it was still important to me because they actually made a time-telling device that was accurate, so it was a major start.
  • First Design

    First Design
Charles Dabbage designs the first mechanical computer. This is important because even if they might not have actually created it, they have the logic and thought to draw it out. Imagination must come first, and if you have that, it's easy to create it.
  • Calculating Calculator

    Calculating Calculator
Ramon Varea invents a fast calculator complete with an internal multiplicaiton table. This is important because it shows how people are slowly started to invent machines that can do some work for the users.
  • The very first Z1

    The very first Z1
Konrad Zuse invents a bionary digital computer, called the Z1, out of punch tape. This is important because people have now moved away from simpler machines and are ranging towards the more complex machines that can hold memory, process data, and more.
  • First Electronic Computer

    First Electronic Computer
In Japan, the first electronic computer is created by Hideo Yamachito. This is important because an actual computer was created, and it was even electronic rather than bionary.
  • Silicon Chip

    Silicon Chip
Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce invented the first silicon chip. This is very important because people were starting to make great inventions that were very small. The chip is responsible for memory in a computer, a huge benefit considering it is so small.
  • Personal Computer

    Personal Computer
The first personal computer, called Xerox Alto, was created. This is very important because people are now able to make computers smaller. In the previous pictures of events, you could see that the computers were very large. Now, the computer has begun to shrink.
  • Apple...not the type you eat

    Apple...not the type you eat
Apple was created by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. I think this was one of the most important events, because without Apple today, we would have some very angry people. If all Apple projucts were just to disappear, we would probably not get school computers, I wouldn't be using this computer, a lot of us wouldn't have a phone, and Ipods would mostly be gone. Apple has made such an influence over the years.
  • Windows...not the kind you clean

    Windows...not the kind you clean
Microsoft Windows changed their format so people wouldn't have to type each command; they could operate the computer by clicking on drop-down menus, pictures, and tabs. This is important because the computer has once again made the job easier for people, except this improvement was big because it took a lot of work to command the computer by typing.
  • Now you can Google it!

    Now you can Google it!
Google was created by Sergey Brin and Larry Page. I think this was very important because, like Apple, we rely so heavily on Googel to find our way around the internet. Most people use Google to search things on the computer, and Google connects many different web pages under specific topics.
