Harriet Tubman was born in 1882. Her upbringing was in Dorchester County Maryland , United States of America. The date of her birth can not be found now to the exact as she was born into slavery but, we do know that she was born some time around the spring.

At 22 Harriet Tubman was married to John Tubman. There marriage was a great thing in Harriet's eyes but apparently John thought differently. Later, in life Harriet realized that her husband had left her, she searched to find him and all she came to was him having an affair with another woman.

From 1850-1865 Harriet Tubman started helping with the underground railroad. The underground railroad was a way of getting and transporting people to different locations so they will be able to escape the terrible slavery that was going on at the time.

During the civil war, people of different color were put into slavery and terrible conditions, this starting in 1850 the underground railroad became a item, or symbol where people either tried to help one another run from there abusive, harsh owners, or tried to hurt one another. Even when the Civil war was over black people were still being treated as though they were worth less than white people. Such as not being able to sit on the bus and not being able to do certain things.

Harriet Tubman learned of her husbands death, John Tubman. John tubman was killled by a white man during a roadside argument. His date of death was september 30th 1867

Harriet tubman then got married to Nelson Davis.

Not long after the marriage Nelson Davis passed away. Leaving a large pension for harriet. Although harriet wasn't pleased with the money because she knew that it was for the men she married not the things she did.

In 1913 Harriet Tubman died from an illness called pneumonia. Pneumonia, is now an illness that is now cured and prevented through shots. The illness however can be deadly to children and/or elders. The illness happens when the air sacks inside of your lungs are filled with liquid and/or pus.
