Magwitch tells Pip and Herbert his story. Then, Herbert passes a note to Pip saying that Arthur was Miss Havisham’s half brother. -
Satis House
Pip returns to the Satis House to see Miss Havisham and Estella, after an unpleasant encounter with Drummle at the inn. -
Heart Broken
Miss Havisham, during the visit admits to leading Pip to think she was his benefactor. Pip asks Miss Havisham, if she could be an anonymous benefactor for Herbert. Then, Pip tells Estella that he loves her. Pip returns to London broken hearted. -
Magwitch in Danger
After receiving a note not to go home, he stays at the Hummums. Wemmick explains the next morning that Magwitch is in danger and has been hidden. -
Plans
Pip buys a rowboat for the escape of Magwitch. -
Theater
Pip goes to the theater to get his mind off things and Wopsle tells him that someone was behind him. -
Dinner at Jagger's House
Pip goes to Jaggers house for dinner. There Pip realizes that Molly, Jaggers’ housekeeper is Estella’s mother. -
Miss Havisham's Guilt
Pip visits Miss Havisham and she feels guilty and agrees to loan Herbert the money if Pip forgives her. -
Fire
As he is leaving he turns around to see Miss Havisham catch on fire. He rushes in and saves her. -
Goodbyes
The next morning Pip leaves and returns to London after saying he forgives her. -
Herbert's information
Herbert changes Pip's bandages because Pip also got badly burned in the fire. Then, Herbert tells Pip about Magwitch's woman from the past. -
Confirming stories
Pip visits Jaggers and confirms that Molly is Estella’s mother. But, he didn’t know the role Magwitch played as Estella's father. -
Important Message
Pip receives a message from Wemmick saying they should be ready to move Magwitch in two days. -
Anonymous note
Then, Pip receives another note from an anonymous person saying to come to the marshes in Kent alone that night. -
Mysterious meeting
Pip travels to his hometown immediately and then goes to the marshes that night.
