    The Meeting of the Estates General
    The Estates General was finally reestablished after a 175 years in France. Louis the 16th agreed to the election of an assemblage. The Estates General was the parliament of France. It was composed of delegates from the three social orders: Clergy, Nobility, and the Commoners. The members of the delegations to the Estates General would be elected by their colleagues.

    The Storming of the Bastille
    The Storming of the Bastille occured in the early morning of July the 14th. The Bastille represented the royal authority in Paris at that time. The Bastille was a medeival fortress and prison that contained a large supply of ammunition and gunpowder. During the storming of the Bastille, a group of people had invaded the Bastille and was responsible for the fall of the Bastille. Also, the governor of the Bastille, De Launay, was killed by the mob of people.

    It was one of the earliest acts of the French Revolution. It was when a group of market women used violence to get more representation from the government to the Third Estate. During this time the peasants and commonpeople were rioting on the scarcity and high price of bread. The mob with violence was able to meet their demands by the acceptance of the king.

    The Civil Constitution was a law that was passed during the French Revolution. It seperated the Roman Catholic Church from the French Government. It made the French government own the property of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church had no say in the government.

    On January 21st, the king of France(Loius the 16th) was executed because he was guilty of treason and for abandoning his country during a time of war. His head was chopped of by the gullitione at the Place de Revolution. It is known as the biggest turning point and main event of the French Revolution. Soon, Marie Antoinette would face the same fate as the king.

    The beginning of a time period when a great amount of violence was used during the ongoing French Revolution. This is the time period where innocent and guilty victims fell victim to the blade of the gullitione. In this time period, even the most prestigious were executed.

    This marked an early victory to the French Republic against the British Royalists. It was a war that took place in the South port-city of France(Toulon). The French troops were leaded by General Jean François Carteaux and Napoleon Bonaparte. Eventually, the French army won and made the Britsh to evacuate.

    Maximilien Robespierre, the leader of the Commitee of Public Safety, was arrested after being shouted down at a Convention. Many people believed after the death of Robespierre, the violence or Reign of Terror would end. On July 28th, 1974, the Incoruptibe was executed at the same place as the king(Revolution Square). The most feared man during the Revolution was finally silenced.

    On December 2, 1804 the French General would no longer be just a General, but the emperor of France. Napoleon with his great militiary strategy would conquer a lot of countries for his French Empire. According to legend, Napoleon took the crown away from Pope Pius VII and crowned himself emperor, but is also suggested the Pope handed the crown.

    On May 26, Napoleon crowns himself as the King of Italy at the Milan Cathedral. Napoleon became the head of the state and had the full powers of government. His title was "Emperor of the French and King of Italy."

    The Battle of Waterloo was fought in present-day Belgium. This battle marked the final defeat of the military leader and emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The French were defeated by the Prussians and their worst enemy: the British. After the Defeat of the Batttle of Waterloo, Napoleon was exiled on the island of Saint Helena. Eventually, he would die there.
