May 3, 1789 Economic- Meeting of the estates-general; all three estates met to talk about problems and vote. Jun 14, 1789 Social- Tennis court oath happened. People broke down the doors of a tennis court and didn't leave until there was a new constitution. Jun 17, 1789 Political- Towards the end of monarchy and the beginning of the representative government, it was voted establishing the National Assembly. Jul 14, 1789 Political- The Storming of the Bastille- people protested. Aug 4, 1789 Political- Feudalism is abolished in France. Aug 4, 1789 Social- Nobleman makes speech for the love of liberty and equality Aug 26, 1789 Social- The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen is approved by the National Assembly of France. Apr 3, 1791 Social- The Declaration of the Rights of Women & the Female Citizen was published by Olympe de Gouge. Sep 25, 1791 Economic- National assembly completed a new constitution about taxes. Apr 5, 1792 Technological- Guillotine is invented by Joseph Guillotin. Apr 20, 1792 Military- France declares war on Austria, but French army flees at sight of the enemy. Jan 21, 1793 Political- Louis XVI is executed by the guillotine. Jul 28, 1794 Social- Robespierre is executed. Nov 14, 1799 Diplomatic- Coup D’etat (a forced to transfer of power)- armed supporters of Napoleon forced members to turn the government over to Napoleon. Apr 30, 1803 Political- France sells Louisiana to the United States. May 18, 1804 Political- Napoleon became Emperor Napoleon I. Jun 24, 1812 Military- Napoleon's army invades Russia.
