After the first two days Israel was on the defensive, but then pushed into Egypt and trapped Egypts Third Army.On October 22 a un-negotiated cease fire saved the Egpytian army from destruction.

    U.S president Jimmy Carter pressed for compromise peace between Arabs and Israelis. Presidnt Jimmy Carter met wit President Sadat of Egypt and Prime Minsiter Menachem Begin of Israel at Camp David in the U.S. This meeting resulted in the Camp David Accords, which was a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.
  • Peace Once Again

    Jordan and Israel signed a peace treaty. Jordan was the second Arab Nation to recgonize Israel.

    A second uprising began after Palenstine rejected the proposal of Israel to an arranged meeting made by President Clinton at Camp David. Suicide bombing began to occur in Israel and more fighting continued.
